Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against T-Mobile & Samsung Over Delayed Android Updates.

"The class action lawsuit says T-Mobile is engaging in deceptive business practices by delaying a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant upgrade to Android 2.2 so that users will opt to buy newer (and possibly more expensive) hadsets, instead, such as the planned Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant Plus.

The class action lawsuit has accused Samsung and T-Mobile of violating the Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act, in promising an upgrade, but not delivering. The Vibrant also suffers from a known glitch in its GPS, which was supposed to have been fixed by a minor upgrade, but is still plaguing the handset.

If the case makes it to court as a class-action suit, then the issue over Android’s fragmentation will be highlighted, particularly with different manufacturers and carriers rolling out upgrades at different times."
