"AT&T (T), T-Mobile (DT) and Verizon Wireless (VZ, VOD) have formed a joint venture called ISIS to build a national network to allow people to make purchase with their mobile phones. The system will rely on smart phones that use near-field communications technology. Just yesterday, at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Google (GOOG) CEO Eric Schmidt showed off an unannounced Android phone that includes an NFC chip to enable mobile payments."
